Reenactor Roundtable Updated 3/11/08
Schedule of Events
Thanks for everyone's support of the meeting - sharing information is so important. To date this is only meeting of it's kind in the country, which says a lot about all of the people participating in the meeting and their willingness to share information and actually communicate with each other. Thanks to John Gibney for opening the dialog on the sesquicentennial.
If you weren't able to stick around for the brief discussion of the upcoming 150th Civil War events - please spend some time thinking in the upcoming months about things that we all can get behind to commemorate Michigan's part in history. Let's not just allow politicians and such to decide on the details - we all need to get involved. If we all band together we can come up with ideas that will be appropriate to commemorate the 150th anniversary. If you're into civil war history the chance for an important anniversary won't happen again for 50 years after this.
The 150th anniversary will begin in April, 2011... we have three years to plan before the anniversary years begin. And we all know how quickly time will fly. Now is the time to begin thinking, and planning on what WE want to do.
Okay - I'll get off of my soap box now...
