Fort Wayne Civil War Days at Shoaff Park.  Cumberland Guard battalion drill weekend in 30 acre park.  Battles, civilian seminars, reenactor flea market, 30 sutlers, Saturday evening meal/dance, heated sleeping area in case of inclement weather.  Need presenters for school children program (30,000 attendees) on Friday.  No registration fees.

NEW LOCATION FOR Mid Mich Civil War Muster - DEERFIELD NATURE PARK

2425 W. REMUS RD. (M-20) ABOUT SIX (6) MILES WEST OF MT. PLEASANT. THIS IS NOT JUST A LIVING HISTORY EVENT BUT HAS BATTLE REENACTMENTS ON BOTH SAT & SUN EACH ON A DIFFERENT FIELD.  The park has 591 acres with 8 miles of trails on the Chippewa River.  In addition to the battles,  events include:  drills, ladies & children’s events,  Period Wedding, candlelight tours and recreated "Oak Hill Tavern" with poker and horseshoes.   There are separate Confederate, Federal, and Civilian camps with the Confederate and Federal camps located near the water.   Time period to be Aug-Sept 1861 western theatre (Wilson's Creek). Park has old style hand water pumps and permanent  pit toilets.  Straw & firewood provided.
